As a nonprofit charitable organization, the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA strives to make membership and programs accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances. To apply for financial assistance, bring copy of your most recent tax return; we will refer to line #4 on the 1040EZ, line #22 on the 1040 long form, or Schedule C if you’re self-employed or non-filing letter when you come to join the YMCA. Please contact your local Y if you have questions about the approval process.
Our Annual Giving Campaign raises funds to help provide financial assistance for membership and program fees. If you would like to make a gift to support the campaign, a specific location, or a program like summer camp, please visit our online donor center.
With your Tampa YMCA membership, you may also visit YMCAs in Lakeland, Sarasota, Bradenton, Pinellas and Polk counties at no cost to you. Additionally, as a Tampa YMCA member, you have access to YMCAs across the US with the YMCA Nationwide Membership program.
Due to COVID-19 closures, and gradual reopening of programs and services, the Tampa YMCA has implemented an interim Guest Policy. To ensure we are able to safely follow social distancing guidelines as well as best accommodate our members, we have updated our guest policy effective Aug. 17, 2020. Please contact your local YMCA for details.
If your membership has been inactive for more than 60 days, you must pay the joining fee to renew your membership. If you are a YMCA member at any other association than Tampa, you can provide your Tampa Y with a letter on your current association’s stationary. The letter needs to state you paid their YMCA association or location a joining fee (and the amount paid) in order to receive a credit toward the Tampa Metro YMCA joining fee (for the amount previously paid).
Your membership is very important to us, and we want to handle each membership cancellation with the attention it deserves. You may terminate your membership at any time. Please contact the Tampa YMCA 813-224-9622.
The EIN for the Tampa Metro YMCA is 59-1742909. There is one tax id for our entire organization.
